TJ Hoover was admitted to Baptist Health Richmond in Kentucky following a cardiac arrest in October 2021 and was declared brain dead. During preparation for organ harvesting, Hoover reportedly began tracking movement with his eyes and thrashing around on the operating table. Despite medical staff witnessing signs of life, a coordinator from the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA) allegedly pressured surgeons to proceed with the case under threat of termination.
