McCullough Foundation Research on H5N1 Gain-of-Function Origins
The McCullough Foundation published a peer-reviewed paper by epidemiologist Nick Holscher in the journal Poultry, Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences regarding the H5N1 bird flu. The research asserts that the current circulating clade 2344B is a product of serial passage gain-of-function research conducted at the USDA Poultry Research Laboratory in Athens, Georgia. The study claims the research was intended to enable the virus to spread from chickens to migratory waterfowl, subsequently infecting cattle and other mammals.
