A flood wash was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 1 18. Pacific time. That'd be three PM here. 3 18 in effect through Friday. I was getting alerts on my phone. The day before it was all over the news.

But when you hit and when you get huge storms coming in in the summer and the spring, dumping all that water when they hit the balconies of Scarpman, those mountains and hills west of Austin, you get these disasters. Growing up, I was always told, you may see a stream, you're trying to drive across the road, looks like six inches, don't do it because seconds later, there could be five feet of water. And you know you're a teenager, you don't listen.

We put it on screen, put it back on screen. National Weather Service issued flash flood alert Thursday morning for Texas Hill Country. And instantly, boom, there it was. Boom, my search right there. Boom, boom. And I asked the crew, yeah, our phones were flooded with it. It was all over the news. Yeah, but see, they live here.
